Itinerary

Day 1: Colombo -Kandy

On arrival at Colombo International Airport, meet your guide for the four hour transfer to Kandy; last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, a listed World Heritage Site. Wander around the lake, explore the markets, then visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and experience a Puja Ceremony before an early evening performance of Kandyan dancing and drumming. Day 2: Kandy & Dambulla

Pay a visit to the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens before leaving Kandy behind to travel to the city of Dambulla; stop en route to visit an exotic spice garden in Matale. Once in Dambulla, you’ll take a trip to the stunning Rock Temple; a World Heritage Site and one of the most impressive cave temples in the country. Home to more than 2,000 square metres of painted walls, the complex of caves contains numerous images of Buddha. Day 3: Sigiriya & Polonnaruwa

The day will start with a trip to the imposing Sigiriya Rock Fortress, which rises more than 200 metres from the surrounding jungle. Visit the ‘Heavenly Maidens’ of Sigiriya, which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral stairway. You’ll then head for Polonnaruwa to visit more of Sri Lanka’s most famous attractions, including the ruins of the Royal Palace. (B)

Day 4: Sigiriya - Colombo

Depart the Cultural Triangle and return to Colombo where your trip ends with a transfer to the airport for your onward journey. (B) If your international flight is arriving into Colombo in the evening we recommend booking a night stay in Colombo before joining the tour.
