If you were visiting Thailand, where would you go

Thailand is one of my ultimate favorite destinations. The history and culture of Thailand along with its natural attractions have beckoned tourists from across the world, making it the most popular destination in Southeast Asia.

Emailholidays.com offers you package holidays to beautiful Thailand. The present Thailand which was earlier known as Siam is known for its ancient history which dates back to more than 20,000 years ago.

Thailand is a popular tourist destination and to make the trip hassle free and more memorable, it is best experienced by booking a holiday package.

Places that I would recommend visiting when in Thailand are:

Sam Phan Bok

Close to Laos is Sam Phan Bok, which translates to three thousand holes. It is also known as the Grand Canyon of Thailand. This unique, natural land formation has holes or depressions which fill up with water from the river. This place is a photographer’s delight as most of them visit it after nightfall to capture the Milky Way.

Red Lotus Sea

Nong Han Lake in Udon Thani gets filled up with pink and red lotuses as far as the human eye can see. This natural event can be seen from December to February, every year, and is a popular destination for young couples especially during Valentine’s Day. The Red Lotus Festival is held in January, and if you happen to be visiting during that time, a boat ride around the lake is highly recommended.

Big Buddha at Phuket

This 45-metre-tall statue of Buddha is a highly referred site in Thailand. Sitting atop Nakkerd Hills, this massive statue can be seen all the way from Phuket town. This place offers a breathtaking 360-degree view of the island.

The layering of the Burmese white jade marble on the concrete statue makes it shine under the bright sunlight.

Mo Hin Khao at Phu Laen Kha National Park

This Park is Thailand’s Stone Henge and so unusual that it will take your breath away. This place is not as crowded as the other tourist spots of Thailand and no one can explain when or how they were formed.

The Erawan Water Falls

Composed of seven tiers, the Erawan National Park is a popular destination with the locals. The first tier which resembles an Elephant’s head looks fantastic. Each section of the waterfall is a must visit as they all have different features.

Wat Phra Kaew

Also known as the temple of the Emerald Buddha. Located in Bangkok, this statue of Buddha is carved out of a single block of Jade. The Emerald Buddha in a meditating posture dates back to 15th century AD.

Wat Pa Maha Chedi Kaew

Also known as the Beer Bottle temple or a Million bottle temple. By using mostly brown and green Heineken beer bottles, this temple was built by a monk and his disciples, to promote recycling. Bottle caps were used to give a mosaic-like pattern inside the temple.
