ITINERARY:
Day 1
Reception and transfer from International Airport El Dorado to the hotel of your choice. Accommodation.


Day 2
Breakfast at the Hotel. A staff member from the company will meet you at the hotel to take you on a tour around the historic center of the city. The first stop will be at Plaza de Bolivar to walk along the streets and take a close look of the most important buildings of the city, such as the National Capitol, which is the center of the country’s legislative life; Casa de los Comuneros; Casa de Nariño, which is the Presidential house; and the Santa Clara Church Museum. The tour includes a visit to the Gold Museum, which exhibits about 34,000 pieces of metalwork from various Hispanic cultures and a visit to the House Museum Quinta de Bolivar, the house belonged to Simon Bolivar. The tour continues to the iconic symbol of Bogota, the Monserrate Hill rising up to 3,152 above sea level, to visit the sanctuary where you will find the statue of the Lord of Miracles. From there it is possible to enjoy the best view of Bogota. Accommodation.

Notes
Gold museum and Quinta de Bolivar closed on Mondays; instead, we visit “Museo de Botero and Museo Casa de la Moneda”.

Day 3
Breakfast at the Hotel. A staff member from the company will meet you at the hotel, either in the morning or the afternoon, to take you on a tour through La Sabana de Bogota to the town of Zipaquira, which name means ‘city of our Father’ in the language of the Chibcha. Back in pre-Columbian times, salt around the area was the most important commodity and the ‘salt cakes’ were the only currency for trading. Over time, technology improved and the muiscas began to extract larger amounts of salt. As a result, an underground salt deposit was formed and it is where the Salt Cathedral was built, 180 meters below the surface. Inside, there is a chapel, “capilla de los mineros” built as a tribute to the Virgin “Our Lady of the Rosary of Guasá” (Guasá means ‘mine’ in Chibcha). At the end, return to Bogotá. Accommodation.

Day 4
Breakfast at the Hotel. Pick-up and transfer to the airport as scheduled. Flight to Pereira. Reception and transfer from Airport to the hotel of your choice. Accommodation.


Day 5
Breakfast at the Hotel. At the indicated time, one of our representatives will pick you up in the hotel to start a City tour. The first stop will be the historical downtown to know La Plaza de Bolivar, the Cathedral, El Lago Park and shopping streets where you will see the popular trade of the region. Then you´ll visit some of the most representative bridges of the city as the Viaduct César Gaviria Trujillo and the helicoidal bridge. Photographic stop in the Alto de Boquerón in the CAU enjoying an incredible view while you taste a special Colombian coffee. At the end you will visit the residential area of Alamos, the pink zone with a stop in “Fonda La Ruana” where you could taste a typical liquor of the region before a visit to a Shopping Center where you will have free time for shopping. Return to the hotel and accommodation.

Day 6
Breakfast at the hotel. One of our representatives will pick you up in the hotel to start the tour of the coffee´s culture Recuca. There you could learn about the coffee process through this interactive and participative excursion. The activity will be developed in a coffee farm where experts will take you from the sowing of the grain to the cup of coffee simulating the collectors process like the typical Colombian Chapoleras. At the end of the visit tasting of a coffe drink and return to the hotel. Accommodation.


Day 7
Breakfast at the Hotel. Pick-up and transfer to the airport as scheduled. Flight to Medellin. Reception and transfer from Airport to the hotel of your choice. Accommodation.


Day 8
Breakfast at the Hotel. One of our representatives will pick you up at the hotel to get you on a panoramic city tour where you will learn about some of the most interesting places in Medellín. You will visit the Bare Feet Park (Parque de los Pies Descalzos), the square where you can find some sculptures of the Colombian artist Fernando Botero, the Metropolitan Cathedral and Cerro Nutibara, where you will see a replica of a typical village in Antioquia from the twentieth century that includes a church and the mayor’s office, the famous pueblito paisa. The place is full with local food restaurants and craft shops and also will have the chance to make a stop at the perfect spot from where you can have a great view of the city. Return to the hotel and Accommodation.

Day 9
Breakfast at the Hotel. One of our representatives will pick you up at the hotel to take you on a tour along the eastern side of the region. We will be passing through the towns of Marinilla, where you will find colonial buildings and a fervent religious tradition; the new El Peñol, a municipality that replaced the old El Peñol that was flooded to build the reservoir El Peñol – Guatape in the late 1970s. Next, we will visit “La Piedra de El Peñol”, a 220 meters high rock, and the Guatape town, where you will see facades from the twentieth century, besides we will see the little dock of the dam. Lunch included. The ascent to the stone of the El Penol (659 steps) is optional.

Day 10
Breakfast at the Hotel. Pick-up and transfer to the airport as scheduled. Flight to Cartagena. Reception and transfer from Airport to the hotel of your choice. Accommodation.


Day 11
Breakfast at the Hotel. At the agree time, one of our representatives will pick you up at the hotel to take you on a tour around Cartagena de Indias. The tour starts at the modern neighborhoods of Bocagrande and Manga, where you will be able to see the contrast between modern architecture and the beauty of the old houses from the twentieth century. Then, we will visit the Castle where the Spaniards sought to protect the city from the attacks of the English in the seventeenth century, “El Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas” .At the end, we will walk around the historic downtown, visiting the San Pedro Claver Church and then the Emerald museum. Return to the hotel. Accommodation.

Day 12
Breakfast at the Hotel. A full day tour. It includes transportation by speedboat to the Rosario´s Islands to“Isla del Sol “ or “Isla del Encanto”) , both are located at south of the Bay of Cartagena. These islands are considered a National Natural Park. You can enjoy coral beaches and variety of fauna of the reef, ideal for relaxing and swimming. Typical lunch included. Return to Cartagena and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.
